MORE DETAILS

Almost two years ago, Megan Hibbs met the love of her life. She was in a great space mentally, but yet, constantly felt overwhelmed. In the midst of juggling work, school, family, friends, fitness, a new boyfriend (he was in Grand Rapids), and Jesus, Megan randomly discovered minimalism through a YouTube video by Marie Kondo. This philosophy proclaims that living with less and not trying to impress others will ultimately lead to financial freedom and long lasting peace. Crazy??

Minimalism is a way of life; it’s about simplifying everything from your wardrobe to your family calendar. It means decluttering your old Halloween decorations you didn’t take out this year, or choosing to wait on that cute impulse buy in the Target dollar spot. Megan can honestly say that minimalist ideologies have changed her personal life as well as her spiritual life. She’s not perfect, but every day, she does ask herself if something will add value or spark joy.

Megan graduated from Madonna University in May of 2022 with bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Spanish. During her time at Madonna, she was the recipient of Novi Oaks’ Bettie Archer Johnson Scholarship and the Impact Scholarship, and became a member of ABWA. Now, she continues to be a proud member of the Novi Oaks Charter Chapter. She is currently the Listing Manager at Jeff Glover and Associates and plans to pursue a career in real estate investing, as well as a couple’s counseling business with her boyfriend. Her favorite people are the aforementioned boyfriend and her parents. She loves lifting at the gym, reading by her cuddle-hating cat, Salem, and pretending to enjoy long walks with her rambunctious dog, Stella.

The Zoom and Introductions begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by our program and a business meeting for our chapter.

You may wish to register for the in-person, dinner version of this event ($20.00 - begins at 6:00 p.m.), which will be held at the Novi Public Library on Ten Mile in Novi (see the flier and alternate in-person event description on our events page).
